Hi, I’m Aimee.
I’m glad you’re here.
Working in healthcare has been my calling since I was in high school.
I’ve been a nurse practitioner since 2007. My original certification is in women’s health and I loved working in OBGYN for most of my career.
My story really starts in 2012, when at the age of 28 I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. A friend sent me a book that talked about food as medicine, specifically anti-cancer medicine, and my entire world changed.
Since then I have devoted my life to working on my physical, emotional, and spiritual health and am passionate about helping others do the same. In 2021 I became certified in functional medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM).
I have experienced our healthcare system both as a provider and as a patient. Part of what fuels me is the outrage that how I was trained to practice medicine is not what actually helps me help patients get well.
It also took me 17 years of practice and numerous episodes of burnout to realize that I don’t really work well within our current system.
I like to be thorough.
I like to be detail-oriented.
I like spending time with my patients to understand their story, their goals, and how I can attempt to put all of the multi-faceted puzzle pieces together.
This is why I created Aligned Integrative Medicine. It allows me to support you effectively while also ensuring my continued ability to provide high-quality care.
Clinically my areas of focus include menopausal and perimenopausal hormone replacement therapy, general female hormone concerns (PCOS, endometriosis, etc), testosterone replacement therapy for men (TRT), gut health, thyroid function, autoimmune disease, peptide therapies and longevity medicine.
I live in Minneapolis with my long-term partner, Martin. We also run a dog sitting business out of our home. He is a professional ballroom dancer and I dance regularly as an amateur. I am also a dedicated yogi, regular meditator, reader, podcast and audiobook junkie, and life-long lover of learning.
